The men race in San Sebastian and Tour de Pologne
July 29, 2010 - Filed under: Testteam
On July 31 Cervélo TestTeam will tackle the challenge of the Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian, a one-day classic on the UCI ProTour calendar. The race, in existence since 1981, is taking a quantum leap forward this year with a considerably more difficult final. In general the race route, over a 234 km course covers many difficult roads through the Basque hills. Early climbs will inspire breakaways, but the decisive attacks usually occur on the slopes of the Alto de Jaizkibel climb. This will include two difficult sections where teams will be forced to select and then try to get their best riders in the front group to fight for victory in the hectic run-in to San Sebastian. The team is also participating at the 67th Tour de Pologne. The route of the 2010 edition will offer stages for the sprinters and will also include some tough climbs. The race starts with a stage from Sochaczew to Warsaw before heading to Katowice. Stage four finishes with a climb to Rownica, considered the hardest climb in Poland. The race will finish in Krakow for the third year in a row on August 7. The Cervélo TestTeam will be at the start with an international roster of good sprinters and climbers.
